About

The aim of this blog is to share my personal experience as a foreigner living in Finland. I wish to build a little survival guide through my perspective for people who want to live or are just interested about Finland. I would like to give some tips about the culture and show what Finland has to offer. You are in the right place if you are searching to learn more about Finland or if, as a Finn, you are just curious about a foreigner point of view on your culture.

I am a young French woman. I have been living in Helsinki since 2011 with my Finnish lover. I have graduated from a Masters in International Corporate Management and am currently working in a multinational company in an intercultural environment.

  3. Hi, how are you?
We have found your blog and think that it is really interesting!
You know that FITUR 2014, the International Tourism Trade Fair, has launched its “TRAVEL BLOGGER 2014” Competition, which this year will extend its search for the best bloggers from amongst candidates on the American Continent and throughout the European Union.
Those who are interested in taking part in the Competition can enter their candidacy between 4th and 26th November through the app integrated into the FITUR page, http://travelblogger.es/en/2014/ . In order to be able to pass through to the following stage, the blogger must obtain at least 50 votes through Facebook or Twitter throughout the same period.
In order to take part, contestants simply need to be of adult age and possess legal residence in any country throughout the American Continent or the European Union (except for Spain, given that another series of initiatives has been reserved for Spanish bloggers that the trade fair will be announcing shortly).
    We are waiting for you!
Have a good day and smile more!;)

  4. Hey. Since I can’t really figure out an another way to “reach” you, I am writing here. I am an Estonian girl living in Finland. The plan that I’ve had ever since I was 12, is to move to France after high school. I absolutely adore the culture and the language. I would just like to know if there are any French people, or places where to improve my French in Helsinki. I just feel like it’s a closed cyrcle with the Ranskalais-suomalainen koulu and the Institute francais de Finlande inside and everybody else out.
If you would please find the time to contact me.

    • Hi Chayka, I’m not sure to be the right person to advice you as i am not so involved in the French community in Finland. But there are events organized by the Chamber of Commerce which you can definitely assist. You should contact them. Also you can write an email to Ubifrance for more information on events Franco-Finlandais happening in the city. Hope it helps you. Cheers. Anais

  6. Hi Anais, I am working on a UK television production looking for talented people around the world who have unusual skills or talents and I thought that you might have come across some people throughout your blogging in Finland. I would love to talk to you if possible. Many thanks, Hannah

  7. My name is Joe Pinzone and I’m casting an international travel show about expats moving abroad. We’d love to film in Finland and wanted to know if you could help us find expats who have moved there within the last 15 months or have been there for 3-4 years, but recently moved into a new home. The show documents their move to a new country and will place the country in fabulous light. The contributors on the show would also receive monetary compensation if they are filmed. If you’d like more information, please give me a call at 212-231-7716 or skype me at joefromnyc. You can also email me at joepinzone@leopardusa.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.
